Femoral Artery Bleedout

In this video you will see a man shot in the leg. It does hit his femoral artery. A few things to focus on:

• You do not see spurting blood, this is common. The spurting blood idea of artery involvement is somewhat false. What you see is large volumes coming out it waves.
• The amount of blood, this is all that matters in assessing need for a tourniquet. You will see more of this in this book.
• Time it takes for him to stop trying to get up. The video does skip but the time is ultimately minutes.
