Did this injury need a TQ? No, it was not arterial. Was applying the TQ the correct thing to do? Absolutely. There was still a threat they needed to deal with. Apply the TQ, ensure he will not die in the next couple minutes before cover cars or EMS arrive. They did good – Treated the casualty, prevented additional casualties, completed the mission. The only thing that could have been better would be to let the Officer who is not injured address the threat and have the Officer who is wounded do a self-aid TQ application.
